Day Use Facilities

The Park offers a variety of re-servable and non-re-servable day use facilities for your enjoyment.  These include the Beach, picnic shelters, grills, and the Hopewell Day Lodge.

The Beach

The 1200 foot public beach offers the same fun in the sun as larger beaches without the day long drive.  Concessions, changing stations, and a picnic area are available.  Please note that there are no life guards on duty and that floatation devices are prohibited.

Picnic Areas

The Park manages five picnic shelter houses, four at 50 Springs Picnic Area off of St. Rt. 73 and one near the Wellman Meadows Boat Ramp. Shelter fees are $75.00 per day.  The second shelter house in Fifty Springs is free of charge. Other picnic areas are scattered throughout the Park:  near The Beach house, the North Pool Boat Ramp, the Nature Center, and in the Campgrounds.

In addition, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages four picnic shelters in Corps-run areas of the Park.  At Flat Fork, there are two shelter houses with playground equipment available.  There is also a shelter house at the Visitor's Center and at The Gorge.  These shelters may be rented for $30.00 per day through the weekday and $60.00 per day on weekends and holidays. Also, the entire Flat Fork complex (Both shelter houses, playground, and adjacent parking lot) can be reserved for $130.00.  Contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at (513) 897-1050 for more details and reservations.
