Youth Fishing Derby

• Registration for the Youth Fishing Derby starts on-site at 8AM, fishing begins at 9AM.
The Youth Pond is a special place designated for kids ages 15 and younger to learn
how to fish. Fish, bait, lunch, and prizes are provided by the Harveysburg Police
Department. Kids, bring your own fishing pole or borrow one of ours. In addition,
the Park Naturalist and other instructors will be on-site to help families learn the ins
and outs of this lifelong hobby. Check out our Passport to Fishing learning stations!
Fun for the whole family.
• Children must be accompanied by an adult. Children do not need a fishing license;
however, adults do.
• Bring a lawn chair, umbrella for shade, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, and water. Wear
sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Bring a youth fishing pole and tackle box.
We have a few “loaner” fishing poles (limited supply) and are welcome to borrow
one of ours if you do not have one.
